New Voices in the Choir of Europe: How can newcomers strengthen European democracy?

Anila Noor is Policy Advisor for Integration at the City of Amsterdam; a Board Member at European Migrant Advisory Board; and Founder of New Women Connector, a migrant-led NGO that addresses the challenges and opportunities migrant women face in Europe.

Drawing on her own experience, Anila discusses what is necessary to make sure voices of newcomers are included to strengthen democracy in Europe. She will address the importance of grassroots organisation led by people with refugee and migration background in this process and the role of gender.

The session will also focus on what citizens can do to contribute to a more inclusive Europe, one that is open for people seeking protection and opportunities.
